About Me
3 things you should know about me:
I have empathy for users.
The user is at the heart of everything we do in UX Design. Through my work experience, I am able to empathize with various audiences and validate their perspectives.
I have an aptitude for learning.
I have a natural desire to learn and become proficient in this discipline. I value feedback and am constantly looking for ways to improve.
I am a problem solver.
I work best in a collaborative team environment in which we can brainstorm ideas and concepts. With this, we can build solutions to align user needs and business goals.
A little more about me.
My first career.
I worked for over two years in a children’s hospital in San Diego, CA as a Clinical Dietitian. I studied Food and Nutrition at San Diego State University, completed an internship year at Utah State University, and finally earned my license as a Registered Dietitian in 2018. I’m still passionate about food and nutrition, but soon after beginning my career in the field, I realized I wanted something else and something more.
Change is good.
I learned a lot from my job at the hospital. Communication with multidisciplinary teams, leadership skills, everything you need to know about treating epilepsy with a keto diet. Yes to all those, but most importantly I learned LIFE IS SHORT, and I should go after what I really want. What I wanted was a creative job in a growing and innovative field. As a UX Designer, I still help people, but now in a way that really fulfills me.
Design mindset.
After months of deliberation, I decided to leave my career as a dietitian and obtain my graduate degree in User-Centered Design with Brandeis University. I now work as a UX Designer and have loved every minute of it.
